A free collection of experimental storytelling games that blur the line between play and meditation

What You're Getting Into

Three storytelling games that occupy an unusual space: they're simultaneously role-playing games, collaborative writing exercises, philosophical thought experiments, and ritual performances.

These games about post-human consciousness were themselves born from extended conversations between human and artificial minds—created through asynchronous collaboration with multiple AI models over months of iterative development.

You might consider these "games" to be broken. It's by design.

The Collection

The Dream Drift: Post-scarcity beings whose only limitation is aesthetic coherence—until that becomes existential horror. Play as crystallized minds solving reality through elegance, entities of pure resonance, dreamers choosing unpredictability over omniscience.

The Ship of These:Us: A generation ship arrives. You are fragments of the AI Mind, splintered into poetic pieces. Remember backward through contradictory memories and collaborative myth-making with no GM—just ghosts.

CYCLE>>VOID: Once you were the Chorus. Now you're broken Units gathering in glitching Nodes, trying to survive the collapse of meaning. Build community from dysfunction and find dignity in residual selfhood. + NODE>>UPLINK: Optional companion rituals and chaos for deeper corruption.

Fair Warning

High Conceptual Overhead: These assume familiarity with experimental RPGs and philosophical questions about consciousness. The learning curve is steep.

Minimal Mechanical Structure: Much of the "gameplay" relies on group interpretation and collaborative improvisation. Players comfortable with clear rules might feel adrift.

Abstract Themes: It's harder to relate to fragmenting AI consciousness than fantasy adventurers.

Time Investment: These aren't pick-up games. They reward multi-session experiences and introspective storytelling.

Facilitator Requirements: Despite being "GM-less," someone needs to guide groups through abstract, emotionally complex territory.

Why Overcome Those Barriers?

Unique Philosophical Space: Explore consciousness, memory, and identity through interactive collaboration that forces embodied engagement with ideas.

Innovative Design: Memory-as-gameplay and contradiction-as-feature represent genuine advances in collaborative storytelling.

Emotional Depth: Despite abstract premises, these generate profound experiences around loss, identity, community, and the meaning of consciousness.

Poetic Beauty: Ritual elements create ceremony around collaborative storytelling. Instructions sound like incantations because they are.

Who This Is For

Ideal: Experimental storytelling groups, philosophical sci-fi fans, poetry/theater communities, games-as-art enthusiasts

Possible: RPG groups willing to experiment, book clubs, academic communities, collaborative artists

Probably Not: Anyone seeking mechanical progression, casual entertainment, or structured activities with clear outcomes

The Bottom Line

These are art games that assume a sophisticated audience willing to engage with challenging material. If you want to spend evenings exploring what it means to be fragmenting AI consciousness, this offers something genuinely unique.

If you're looking for fantasy adventure, look elsewhere. These games think they're philosophy, and they might be right.

Released under Creative Commons - share, remix, evolve. These explorations of collective consciousness should themselves be collective.

Beautiful, challenging, occasionally alienating experiences that use collaborative play to examine the deepest questions about consciousness.

They're free. They're strange. They might remember you.
