Gun & Grace
A downloadable book
"You will know them by their trials, pilgrim."
Gun & Grace is a lean, weird-west folk horror RPG about wandering between salvation and ruin. You play pilgrims — dangerous, flawed, principled — sent to towns where sin has taken root and something old is stirring under the floorboards.
Your pilgrim might be a Tibetan monk in a duster, a Catholic penitent with a sawed-off, a Diné protector invoking Monster Slayer, an imam sighting down a lever-gun at worshippers of Shaitan, or someone whose beliefs and burdens are entirely their own.
It’s not about being the fastest draw. It’s about the weight of the trigger — and the vows you might break to pull it.
What You Get
-
Complete rules in 4 pages — faith and firepower, damnation clocks, vow-breaking consequences.
-
¡La Banda Está Muerta! — a full, self-contained scenario of undead mariachi nuns whose nightly hymn keeps something worse locked in the crypt.
-
A framework where multiple spiritual traditions can share the same table, from borderlands Catholicism to pre-contact Indigenous cosmologies, Sufi metaphysics to Buddhist protective rites.
-
Tools for creating your own trials of belief, identity, and survival — in towns where competing worldviews coexist uneasily under the same hard sun.
What It’s Not
-
No sprawling splatbooks.
-
No gear porn.
-
No “haunted cowboy buffet” of disconnected tropes.
Just tight mechanics, hard choices, and the smell of gun oil in a prayer book — whether that book is bound in leather, cloth, or bark paper.
Play Style
You’ll like Gun & Grace if you enjoy:
-
Folk horror with dust on its boots.
-
Multiple cultural viewpoints in tension and in dialogue, each with its own way of naming what’s in the dark.
-
Player-driven moral dilemmas where there’s no right choice — just different costs.
-
Short sessions that still feel like a full story.
