A downloadable book

You receive an audio player in the mail. No return address. Just a voice.

She says she used to be you.
She leaves instructions.
You’re already behind.
But the city remembers.

This free bundle is inspired in part by Janet Cardiff’s audio walks—especially The Missing Voice (Case Study B)—and expands that lineage of narrative dislocation, spectral urbanism, and collaborative memory.

It includes:

The Voice You Haven’t Heard Yet
A corrupted transcript, possibly from the future, possibly from a version of yourself. You read it like a recovered file—out of sequence, half-lost, but full of instructions for things you haven’t done yet. Or already did.

Memory is collaborative. Identity is layered. The voice you think is yours has always been a chorus.

One Step Behind
A solo journaling RPG where your own city becomes haunted by potential pasts. Instead of listening to audio, you read “tracks” she recorded—then document the spaces, emotions, and hauntings they describe. You trace forgotten routes. You contradict her version. Eventually, you forget whose notebook this was.

  • The Missing Voice (Case Study B) by Janet Cardiff
